Visual Plans Linky Party - So Excited!!!

This is a crazy week in my classroom!!!  Not only are we celebrating Read Across America all week long we had our first school assembly today, the dentist is coming tomorrow, and another assembly on Friday!!!  In between all that and the usual specials were are going to do some teaching ;)

Linky Party - So excited!!! :-)

Here are my visual plans for the week - I've spruced the plans up a bit for you to see them!!!  I usually have them scribbled on a piece of paper LOL!  Our stations are carried over from last week...we have a weird schedule (as you'll see) so planning is not always the easiest thing!

A LOT of my literacy/math stations are from Deedee Wills - she is fabulous and a lot of what I do in my classroom stems from her ideas!!!

Dr. Seuss Week and A New Literacy Station

Dr. Seuss week begun today!  Mondays are a busy day with computer lab and music so all we did today was read Fox in Socks and the kids got to play on Seussville in the computer lab!!!  My assistant made this wonderful decoration for the door

We also did our health lesson on Good and Bad Feelings.  The kids had to draw a picture and then add it to the chart in the correct place.

It's going to be a Seuss-tactical week with lots of fun activities and yummy food!!!

I also just finished a new product for my TpT store.  It's a St. Patrick's Day theme beginning sounds match.  Can't wait to get it laminated so my kids can use it.  Hope you enjoy!!!

Kindergarten Linky Party - Literacy Stations

So one of my favorite literacy stations in my classroom is Write the Room!!!  The kids just love looking around for the pictures and words and they actually stay on task while doing this station.  I've recently started making my own write the rooms and they are for sale at TpT.  I need to work on having more papers for the kids to fill out.  I try to change the theme monthly but change the paper they fill out every week.

Here's a freebie that's available at my TpT store

Journals

In my kindergarten class we do journals every morning as their "early bird" activity.  Since the beginning of the year we have trained the kids to write their first name, last name, date and then draw a picture and write a "sentence" about the picture.

Recently my assisstant and I had realized that the kids weren't using the word wall words correctly in their writings.  So I decided that we would reward them with a heart on a bulletin board!!!  I know how exciting right?!?  We also made a chart so we could keep track of which words they had used.  I gave them a rule that they could only recieve 1 heart per word.  So if they write the sentence "I see a bird." They have to choose which word to get a heart for and then that's it for the month.  So do you think it worked?

I am so proud of my kids!!!  MOST of them get really excited about getting a heart and they are writing some wonderful sentences!!!  We have another chart that we are laminating so we can use it over and over each month - next month it's Shamrocks!!!

It's party weekend!

So today is already starting off a million times better than last week. My husband got my computer fixed so I can go back to working on some more items for my classroom this weekend. That is when I'm not celebrating my son's first birthday!  Today is the big party with most family and a few friends.

I made these cute penguin cookies that I saw on Pinterest. They look a little more like owls but they are still cute and they are definitely yummy!!!

Anthony had a great time hanging out with his friends and family!  Here's his favorite gift!  A chair from his Nana and Poppa!  Such a happy birthday boy!!!

Made it through the week....barely!

What a week!  Made it through the 100th day of school, Valentine's Day party, my computer dying and losing ALL my files of the past 12 years of teaching! :(

On the 100th day of school the kindergarten classes did rotations and we all did different activities. In my class we made portraits of what we thought we would look like at 100 years old. Here are a
couple examples that I made. They turned out super cute!

We also made this little gem Zero the Hero!!!

My first blog

Well today was the 100th day of school and tomorrow is Valentines day. What a busy week! I'm gonna try this blog thing out for a couple weeks and see if I can keep up with it. My goal will be to write a couple times a week about what's going on in my classroom. I also recently have started teacherspayteachers.com account. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Christina-Mauro

I have only made a few things and of course my computer died today with everything on it. So I'll have to remake the items I made over the weekend. I have a couple items below that I made for February. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. After I figure out more about this blogging thing I'll add a link to my store along with the items that I make.
