Sunday Nights . . .

How do you spend your Sunday nights?

Lately I've been creating products for my kids like a crazy person.  I have mentioned before that now my kinders give requests for certain themes they want in stations.  I think I've created a monster!!!

So today I printed all my zoo stations because we went to the National Zoo on Friday.  Cinco de Mayo is also coming up and I couldn't help myself not to buy Scrappin Doodles clipart (so stinkin cute.)

So needless to say my little laminator is getting a work out tonight and unfortunately my scissors and hands will be as well.

Anyone else do this on Sundays?

Hope everyone had a great weekend,

Christina Mauro

CVC Words - Word Study Station

During our Word Study stations today I introduced a new game to the kids.  It's a CVC game but actually has more uses.  The kids had to choose a game mat that has a picture and three boxes.  I put all the cards in the middle of the table that had letters and pictures of other things.  The first thing I had them do was spell the word using the letter tiles.

After they spelled the word I had them look at the first letter the word started with.  They then had to find 3 pictures that started with the same letter.

They did AMAZING!!!  Even my lower students had fun looking through the pictures and letters looking for the right ones.

If you are interested in this item it is for sale in my TpT store here CVC Word Pack.

I'm going to make some more activities like this because the kids really did have a great time doing it!!!

4 Seasons Murals

In science we are learning about Spring and in Social Studies continuing to "work together."  So I decided to have the kids make season murals.  I split them into four groups and gave each group a large piece of bulletin board paper.

They were only allowed to use scissors and glue and had about 7-10 minutes at each table to create things that would go in each season.

They did a great job working together and made beautiful murals.  I'm going to save these for the end of the year when we start to take things off the walls and hang these back up. :)
